Fats have been demonized by so-called Doctors and Scientists, linking an increase in fat intake to heart diseases and cholesterol issues. Most doctors will tell you to avoid saturated fats such as eggs, meats, butter etc. But they forget to mention that the real problem actually comes from hydrogenated oils, sugar, and processed foods.
Fats have been around for centuries. Our ancestors grew up cooking their foods in butter, ghee, and animal fats. They devoured in animal products like eggs, steaks etc, made various products out of cow’s milk (butter, ghee, yogurt, whey), and lived off nature’s foods such as raw nuts. They didn’t report any heart diseases. They didn’t have any weight-gain issues. They were perfectly healthy, with no degeneration in their facial structures and teeth.
in 1900, heart diseases were so rare. By 1950, heart problems were sweeping through modern society, killing more people than any other disease. By the 2000s, it became the number one cause of death in both men and women
These diseases have only just come to light in the last 50-60 years. And we are still blaming meats and butter as the issue?
The narrative against saturated fats was started by Dr Ancel Keys, who made a name for himself during WWII. This earned him a PHD, with his nutritional credentials resting on the fact that he made pocked-sized meals for soldiers that were ready to eat and could be stored for years. This fame got him various gigs on studying problems such as heart disease etc. He used this platform to introduce vegetable oils and margarine products, by getting American Heart Association (AHA) to convince the public that butter and other animal fats are the leading causes of heart diseases. Of course, AHA is a big beneficiary of large donations from the vegetable oil industry. As the general public, we are programmed to believe what the government, the doctors and the health associations tell us. If the most famous heart association tells you that saturated fats are bad for you and vegetable oil is good for you, you will believe it without question. Back in the day, you couldn’t even open up your laptop or phone to search into this matter, you just had to accept what the TV or the radio or the newspaper told you.
Dr Ancel Keys, many decades later, said “Oops! Everything i said about Saturated Fat was really about Margarine.” This is after he had destroyed millions of lives, and set them on the path of illnesses and diseases. This is why we need to start listening to Lipid scientists, rather than general doctors and general scientists, whose back pockets are filled with people looking to advertise a certain product. Money makes the world go round!
There was so much money being made from low-fat, low-cholesterol products that it was difficult to stop it. Selling man-made substitutes for natural foods is bound to get people sick and thus, the profits go back into the established medical industry. A patient cured is a patient lost.
It is extremely important for you to understand the fats around you and what to avoid. Vegetable oil is found in almost all ready-made foods from granola, bakeries, cereals, soy products, meat substitutes, and anything with a shelf life. Nowadays, it is found in nut products too. If you buy a bag of mixed nuts and look at the ingredients, the first thing you will see is vegetable oil. So healthy food becomes unhealthy all of a sudden because of the hydrogenated oils.
This is why it is so important for each consumer to be aware of what is good and bad for them. Once they get an understanding, they can go and identify products around their household and in the supermarkets that may be harmful to them in the long run.
By changing your cooking oils and avoiding the bad ones, your life will improve for the better, whether it is within a week, month or a year, you will not only get healthier but also reduce inflammation around your body. When inflammation is reduced, your body will naturally lose weight/fat, making you look leaner, less bloated, and more energetic.
So stop blaming meat, butter, and eggs for what hydrogenated oils, sugars, and processed foods have done to your health. Maybe you are not ready to blame your lifestyle and food choices because you think, if the food tastes good and is abundantly available in supermarkets, it must be good for you. Do your own research rather than blindly following the news and people’s advise on how to be healthy. Once you connect the dots, you will understand what I mean.
Welcome to the Great Awakening!
